The Original model is over 6 feet long and guaranteed to work on most shallow rooted bushes up to 12 to 15 years old.

The Lite model (aka the Shrub Buster Lite) works great on the younger shrubs up to around 4-6 years old.

Most people will be satisfied with the Original tool. However, if your patch is all small ones, the Popper Lite may be tool for you. Also, the Honeysuckle Popper Lite works well for those who may not be able to handle the weight of the full size tool, but would still like to participate in removal efforts.

Great Product

After I got used to the product it was very easy to use and effective. With our city park system we have much land to cover and honeysuckle has been our biggest problem along with many other invasive specie plants. I have added some pictures of an area that I have been using this tool at. One of the pictures shows how thick the honeysuckle was in the area, another picture shows the pile that I removed, and the third shows the view of a stream that was covered by the honeysuckle. All in all it is a great product that I will use for years to come.

Works great

Customer service was superb. The popper works the way it is advertised. It is made from heavy duty material. It takes a little bit of practice on a few bushes before you get comfortable on how to use it properly. I haven't tried using it on other plants, just bush honeysuckle. Assembly was very simple.

Thumbs mostly down

I wanted to like this tool, but I just don't. It's very well made (and heavy), but the design doesn't work very well. I think I expected the tip of the popper to sink into the ground like a shovel. Boy was I wrong. I even waited until after some rain so the soul would be softer. Pressing on the popper with my foot usually results in no movement at all. It's almost impossible to get any purchase on the root ball because I can't get the tip underneath it.
When you are able to pull up a honeysuckle with it, it's very satisfying, but this usually required some work with a shovel first.

Mixed feelings

My husband assembled the popper and wasn’t impressed. He said the drilled holes in the wooden part seemed like a homemade job. There was also a plastic end cap we think was supposed to go on the red handle, but was the incorrect size. He was able to assemble, and it is a heavy duty product.

The popper is heavy & awkward, and not a tool I want to be carrying around. I’m a very tall, strong woman so didn’t think it would be a problem, but it’s a hassle.

I really wanted to love this popper, but don’t think it’s worth it. I did pull out some honeysuckles, but think I’ll go back to my previous chainsaw & tordon method. Advertisement indicated popper is also good for multiflora rose, and I was very excited about that…not worth the effort.
